The Red Army in battles on Vojvodina and Yugoslavia territories

According to the Moscow treaty of September 28th 1944, parts of the 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts of the Red Army participated in battles led in certain parts of Yugoslavia, offering significant support to the units of the Yugoslavian Army.

In Yugoslavia, Red Army units cooperated in battles in Timočka Krajina, in the liberation of Banat and Bačka, the Belgrade Operation, the battle at Batina and the liberation of Baranja, battles on bridgeheads at Virovitica and Bolman and on the Syrmian Front.

In addition, following the same treaty, the USSR sent a significant aid in arms, military equipment and other wartime material.

The battles in the Yugoslavia region saw around 8,000 Red Army casualties.

The Museum of Vojvodina building in Dunavska 37 hosts multiple thematic exhibitions and concerts during the year. It also hosts creative museum workshops with school-age children, book promotions and public panels.
